Developed in partnership with TuffStuff, the new Makita Workwear range is designed as a premium collection for tradesmen, with a focus on comfort, durability, performance, and cleaner modern styling.
The range includes everything from T shirts and hoodies through to jackets, trousers, footwear, and accessories.
Here’s a look at the main categories in the new range.
T-Shirts
Makita’s T shirt line covers both everyday wear and more technical performance styles.
The Origin T Shirt is the more classic option, made from 100% BCI cotton with a breathable midweight feel and reinforced shoulder seams for durability. It comes in black and off white.
For warmer days and more active work, the Tech T Shirt is made from 100% recycled polyester and is designed to be lightweight, moisture wicking, quick drying, and breathable. Makita is also offering a women’s version in this style.

The hoodie offering is simple but solid.
The Origin Hoodie is built as an everyday layer for on site and off site wear, using a heavyweight fleece lined fabric for warmth and comfort. Features include a brushed inner, adjustable hood, taped neck seam, and a zipped pouch pocket.
Men’s and women’s versions are both included in the range.
Jackets and Outerwear
This looks like one of the strongest parts of the collection.
The Shield Bodywarmer is designed as a lightweight insulated layer with ripstop nylon, stretch side panels, internal storage, and a water repellent finish.
The Shield Jacket builds on that with the same insulated feel, plus sleeves, stretch panels, YKK zips, and an adjustable hem. There is also a women’s version.
For wet weather, the Aero Jacket is the waterproof option, with a PU coated polyester outer, taped seams, breathable mesh lining, adjustable hood, zipped side opening, and a 5000mm waterproof rating.

Makita has gone quite big in this category, with a strong focus on stretch fabrics and modern fits.
The Axis Stretch Jogger is designed as a more flexible alternative to traditional work trousers, with 4 way stretch fabric, reinforced knees, secure pockets, ankle zips, and a water repellent finish. There is also a women’s version.
The Axis Stretch Shorts take the same approach for warmer weather, using stretch fabric, secure pockets, and an elasticated waist for comfort.
The Vector Stretch Trousers are more traditional site trousers, with full stretch fabric, Cordura kneepad pockets, triple stitched seams, reinforced hems, and zipped thigh pockets.
At the top end, the Onyx Stretch Trousers are built for tougher site work, with 4 way stretch ripstop fabric, Cordura reinforcement, triple stitched seams, detachable holster pockets, and a water repellent finish.

Makita’s footwear range includes both safety boots and safety trainers.
The Osaka, Anjo, and Kyoto Safety Boots all use full grain nubuck leather, waterproof membranes, composite toe caps, composite midsoles, dual density soles, and breathable recycled linings. They are all S7S FO SC SR certified, with the main difference being the colour options.
The Kobe Safety Trainer offers a lighter, more trainer style option, while still including a composite toe cap, composite midsole, waterproof membrane, dual density sole, and reflective detailing. Makita is also offering a women’s Kobe Safety Trainer.

For colder conditions, Makita has included a Tech Baselayer Top and Tech Baselayer Bottoms.
Both use 4 way stretch fabric with moisture wicking performance, quick drying comfort, and ThermX knit for lightweight warmth.
They are designed as close fitting layers for use under workwear in colder weather.
Accessories
The range is rounded off with a few everyday extras.
The Origin Work Socks are designed for long days on your feet, with cushioned heel and toe panels, reinforced wear zones, and breathable knit construction.
Makita has also included an Origin Bobble Hat with 3M Thinsulate lining, plus an Origin Baseball Cap and Origin Trucker Cap for lighter everyday wear.
What Stands Out Across the Range?
Across the collection, Makita is clearly pushing a more premium workwear feel.
The dealer presentation highlights features such as recycled fibres, BCI cotton, PFC free water repellent finishes, Cordura reinforcements, YKK zips, and ripstop fabrics.
That gives the range more credibility than just being simple branded clothing.
