The Dewalt TOUGHSYSTEM 2.0 DXL is the latest incarnation of portable, stackable storage solutions.
The DXL range, which is compatible with both the original TOUGHSYSTEM range as well as the TOUGHSYSTEM 2.0 range, is a selection of heavy-duty drawers, a rolling base and a worktop to provide you with a durable, hard-wearing mobile workshop.
Ideal for your workshops, garages, or any location where you need to take some equipment, the DXL is possibly one of the largest stackable mobile storage solutions on the market in terms of physical size as well as internal volume.
In terms of Dewalt’s Storage Range, the DXL is probably the toughest and heaviest duty yet. It has built on the tough, durable nature of the TOUGHSYSTEM and frankly taken that concept to the next level.
But don’t worry if you think you’re going to have to invest in a whole new solution… the DXL is 100% compatible with all existing TOUGHSYSTEM and TOUGHSYSTEM 2.0 items. It is an evolution of the system, not a tear it up and start again system.
TOUGHSYSTEM 2.0 DXL Modules
At the time of writing, the DXL System consists of four basic elements. Each of these offers auto-stacking latches for fast connection to each other and to previous TOUGHSYSTEM modules.
The two drawer modules are supplied with dividers to let you organise your tools and accessories to suit your needs as well as the needs of the job. The dolly has 4 multi-directional, hard-wearing casters that let you guide your tower to where you need it and will even navigate around smaller spaces and tight corners.
The worktop sits at the top and lets you work comfortably should you need to saw, cut or even measure thanks to the surface markings for measurements. There is a wide, comfortable handle to steer the stack as well as slots to hang your power tools from.
Alternatively, you will be able to buy this in several ‘pre-stacked’ combinations – with either one or two of each of the drawers, or three of the same drawers. The pre-stacked combinations may also include accessory bins that can slot into the side of the drawer units thanks to the addition of the Toughtrack rail.

Compatibility
What is incredibly handy is the ‘backwards compatibility’ aspect of the DXL system.
As mentioned, when released it will work with current TOUGHSYSTEM and TOUGHSYSTEM 2.0 cases.
Nothing stops you from adding half-width cases, totes, work lights, or organiser cases to the DXL range.
Not only will this increase the appeal for those who already have invested in a TOUGHSYSTEM range, but it also aids in the way you organise your tools for the job – nothing gets missed out.
How does it compare to…

I will absolutely be getting one of these! I’m a commercial carpenter who does doors and hardware plus many other things on multiple projects in a weeks time. So to be able to have a mobile workshop with everything at arms reach would be fantastic
