With 2023 quickly coming into an end we at ITS thought what better than a recap of the Makita tools you may have missed this year! It’s been a pretty active year at Makita, from their microwave launch to the 40v XGT range expanding the tool giant has consistently been at the forefront of innovation.
In this article I have picked a few tools that you may have missed or that may haven fallen out of the limelight. There is a good mix of 12V, 18V and 40V included, however if you’d like to see more tools let me know in the comments and I’d be happy to add more!

The Makita SK700G 12V Max CXT Green Multi-Line Laser is the perfect tool to help you confirm straight, level lines before construction begins.
This green laser is ideal for better visibility in brighter conditions, has 3 adjustable brightness levels for your convenience. Vertical laser lines can rotate around a defined plumb point up to 10° left and right (with a dial for fine adjustment)
Makita UP100DZ 12V Pruning Shear

The Makita DC10SB CXT Fast Battery Charger is, as the name suggests, a fast charger with forced air cooling and a charging current of 5.0 A.
The cooling system blows cooling air into the battery. This prevents high temperatures, which extends the life of the battery and accelerates the charging process.

The DHP489Z Combi Drill is certainly a capable drill all while being beautifully compact, with a maximum drill capacity in wood of 38mm, 13mm in metal and 16mm in masonry. It offers 21 torque settings with a maximum fastening torque of 73Nm and a keyless chuck capacity of 1.5-13mm.
Well balanced, and full of features, this combi drill is incredibly versatile. With 2 mechanical gears, electric brake, and dual-rotation modes, this drill delivers up to 1800rpm no load speed, and up to 27,000bpm.

Supplied with compatibility to tether strap connection to keep the tool close and safe when working at height, the drill also includes variable control, electric brake as well as trigger-lock.
Makita DBO382Z 18V Finishing Sander

The Makita DBO382Z Sander is a variable speed machine that is also suitable for vertical works.
The versatile sander accepts 93 x 230mm sanding sheets and is attached by clamp along with hook and loop connections. The sander has three speed options with up to 12,000 orbits per minute and 24,000 sanding strokes per minute.
Makita DJS131Z 18V 1.3mm Metal Shear

The Makita DJS131Z is a compact metal cutting device with rotating head. Offering a clean-edged strip from the middle, these shears have a cutting capacity of 1.0mm for stainless steel and 1.3mm in steel.
Surprisingly lightweight, the DJS131 has an ergonomically designed handle that fits in your hand perfectly to provide maximum comfort and control. The tool has a stroke rate of 3000spm and it is equipped with a rotating head that can be set in 12 positions over 360°.
The DJS131 is ideal for both straight cuts, curved cuts and offers constant speed control thanks to the use of the brushless motor. The metal shear also features restart protection so that if the battery drains when in used, you will need to turn off the machine after the new battery is installed.

The Makita DAS180Z Dust Blower is a portable, high powered hand-held machine designed for removing dust from crevices with ease.
As well as it being used for cleaning, with the appropriate nozzle, it can also be used as an inflator, and thanks to a vacuum function, a deflator (handy at the beach along with the portable cooler).
The Dust blower has a 4-stage air volume control which is selectable subject to the needs to job at hand. Delivering a maximum air velocity of 0-200 m/sec, the blower includes a lock on switch which reduces fatigue as well as trigger lock function.

Makita LS003GZ01 40V 305mm Slide Compound Mitre Saw

The Makita LS003G 305mm Compound Mitre Saw is an exceptionally powerful machine with a single sliding system and rail-forward design that lets you place the machine closer to the wall so that you have more space to work.
The saw features a large turn base that lets you support the workpiece securely resulting in enhanced stability.
As well as being capable of double mitre cuts, the motor is equipped with an electric brake to ensure that the blade stops immediately when the cut is finished.
The saw incorporates Makita’s Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) which lets you connect to and operate, a compatible dust extractor with Bluetooth; automatically turning on the extractor at the same time as the tool.
Makita HS012GZ 40V 165mm Circular Saw

- AWS Control to activate external dust extractor to keep the work area clear of debris
- Has constant speed: the machine remains at speed even under load and therefore cuts cleanly.

The Makita HS012G 165mm Circular Saw is powerful saw that has the blade on the left side of the trigger control.
The flexible circular saw offers the exceptional combination of both high power along with a lightweight design. The weight has been lowered thanks to a re-design of the brushless motor.
Capable mitre cuts with settings up to 50° and fixed points at 22.5°, 45° and 50°. It also includes constant speed control so that the machine remains at speed even under load and therefore cuts cleanly.
An Anti-restart function protects you and the workpiece in case of battery failure – when you replace the battery, the saw will stay off until you reset it. The narrow and ergonomically designed handle allows for a good grip as well as optimal control.
Makita RT001GZ16 40V Router Trimmer

The Makita RT001GZ Router Trimmer is a compact and easily portable tool with a collect capacity of 3/8” and 1/4″.
The router features a soft brake that gently stops the machine which reduces the risk of damage to the material you’re working on. A hard brake can sometimes damage your work – this removes that worry.
When used as a trimmer, it has a plunge capacity of 40mm, and, thanks to the brushless motor, produces up to 31,000rpm no load speed.
Dust and debris are forced out of the machine and away from the cutting area so that you can maintain a clear view of the work surface. The router trimmer can also connect to Makita’s AWS which will automatically start an external dust extractor so that your materials are free from dust and debris.
Special Mention: Makita camping range
Makita have released a selection of olive green tools into their new ‘Outdoor and Adventure’ range. Now whilst these are certainly eye catching, there isn’t much more to say there. If you want your tools to stand out on site, or maybe you’re just a die hard fan that wants to collect them all, then maybe you’ll want to pick up some of these!
